Will the separation be official?

Around 2 p.m. on this first day of racing, the skippers began the long series of tacks that would take them south. A slow procession, but essential to reach their goal. It's interesting to note, however, that two groups have already formed.

The first group, made up of twenty solo sailors, is led by the current leader, Alexis Thomas (Wings of the Ocean), followed 2 miles behind by Hugo Cardon (Sarth'Atlantique) and Jules Ducelier (Région Normandie) 2.3 miles behind. All are heading further south, while on the other side, Léo Bothorel (Centre Excellence Voile – Secours Populaire), Hugo Dhallenne (Skipper Macif 2025) and Adrien Simon (Faun) are trying to win in the west. The fleet is now stretched laterally over a distance of 23 miles.

Win in the west to shift and seek stronger winds or attempt the edge while limiting the miles? Either way, we will have to cross this ridge of high pressure that is blocking the route. In the game of strategy, the chessboard seems to be in place and we must now wait for the next few hours to discover who will have the greatest gain.

The sailors are preparing to spend their second night at sea. A much calmer night than the previous day. It's highly likely that these long tacks will be conducive to short naps, but the easing wind will require them to be on top of their trim to get the Figaro BENETEAU 3 going again in the best possible way. Good night everyone, and see you tomorrow morning for the next update.
