LEG 3 DESCRIPTION
Head for the Loire-Atlantique region for the 3rd stage between Royan and La Turballe.
The outcome of the 55th edition of the Solitaire du Figaro Paprec will once again be played out in Loire-Atlantique, a major partner in the race, but in a new town: La Turballe. This leg will be no easy ride for the sailors, especially as the fatigue accumulated over the first two legs will add an extra layer of difficulty.
‘After leaving Royan, the competitors will head for England, passing off the western coast of Sein. They will then have to make a strategic choice, depending on the current and the weather, to round Ushant, either via the Fromveur Passage or via the Four off the tip of Brittany, which is always a tricky spot. They will then continue towards Skerries Bank, a port side marker located to the east of Star Point, and negotiate the currents as best they can before returning to the tip of Brittany, where the passage will be 100% free. The finish in La Turballe, where the sailors will be celebrated, will offer a magnificent spectacle!
All in all, it's sure to be a thrilling match on the water, with a potential turnaround in fortunes, and a great spectacle at the start and finish of the three legs of this 2024 edition of the Solitaire du Figaro Paprec.
