Hugo Cardon - Sarth’Atlantique

Originally from Le Mans, Hugo Cardon, 23, discovered water sports as a child. He started windsurfing at the age of 6, then learned to sail dinghies from the ages of 8 to 15: Optimist, Open Bic, Laser 4.7, and Radial. He won three Sarthe championship titles and finished on the podium at the 2019 French Open in Laser Radial.

In 2020, he was a trainer for Arnaud Boissières in the Vendée Globe. This contact with ocean racing was like a turning point: Hugo wanted the open sea, strategy, and endurance. He then began a course in Mini 6.50 and multiplied his sailing on Figaro, Class40, and IMOCA, to train as closely as possible with the best.

In 2023 Hugo participated in the Mini-Transat 2023 where he was the youngest competitor.

In May 2025, he took part in the Transat Paprec double-handed with Anaëlle Pattusch. The duo finished in 14th place after a formative and encouraging transatlantic race.

This year, Hugo is taking part in his very first Solitaire du Figaro Paprec, with determination and the desire to do well among the rookies.

🎯 Objective: to perform well in the Rookie ranking and lay the foundations for a future in ocean racing.
