  • Sea conditions this Thursday, August 29

Alexis Loison on GROUPE REEL was still leading the leg this morning in a moderate north-easterly flow of 15-20 knots like the rest of the fleet. Anthony Quentin on JPS Contrôle was closing the race and sailing under a weaker north-north-easterly flow of around 10 knots. The race leaders will quickly be faced with a zone of slack air south of the 45th parallel. They will therefore have to gybe to the right, in order to avoid this more delicate zone. This afternoon, they will be sailing under a weakening north-easterly flow of between 10 and 15 knots with a risk of storm squalls estimated at around 40-50%. The first skippers should reach Gijón early this afternoon at the latest while the rest of the fleet will finish this race this evening under a moderate north-easterly flow of 15-20 knots.
