Almond for Pure Ocean in tow behind Express

ree

Ten hours after his dismasting, Thomas de Dinechin on Almond for Pure Ocean is still in tow behind the race organizer's boat Express. Since last night, the two boats have been heading towards southern Brittany. Last night, before passing the tow, an organizer's RIB was able to provide Thomas with a 20-liter container, supplementing his tank, which contained approximately 33 liters. Thomas has enough fuel to reach Concarneau or Lorient, a distant destination, for the first 80-mile leg. Around 10 a.m. this morning, Almond for Pure Ocean will release the tow and continue on its own. Express, meanwhile, will join the Figaro sailors still in the race approximately 45 miles from the Chaussée de Sein.
