Normandy region

Maritime regions appear to be the most attractive today, and the image of a "coastal region" is highly valued. Normandy, with its coastline of more than 640 km bordered by some of the busiest maritime traffic in the world, possesses the maritime characteristics essential to its development.

The Normandy nautical sector currently represents more than a hundred member companies, a cumulative turnover of nearly 110 million euros and 1,100 direct jobs. The development of nautical activities leads to the development of economic activity and jobs. As part of its nautical policy, the Region aims to promote the maritime character of Normandy, enliven the coastline and strengthen the nautical sector.

The Solitaire du Figaro PAPREC helps to enliven our coastline and contributes to making "Normandy, a land of nautical sports". After supporting Joan Ahrweiller, Sophie Faguet, Eric Delamare, Alexis Loison, Guillaume Pirouelle and Jules Ducelier, the Region is launching a new selection process from July 1 to September 15, 2025 for the next two years. At the end of the tests, a candidate will be selected to be the skipper of the Normandy Region and participate in the French Elite offshore racing championship for the 2026 and 2027 seasons. Nautical skills, sporting qualities, motivation and project management skills will be determining criteria for being selected and becoming the nautical ambassador of the Normandy Region.
